This four-week course is for anyone curious about safely exploring the basic elements of yoga and it’s benefits. Beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome. No prior experience is required to participate. 

In this course you will be introduced to the foundations of a yoga practice: breathing, postures, mindfulness, meditation and yoga philosophy. You will learn safe alignment principles associated with fundamental yoga poses, simple breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and basic yoga concepts. 

The Benefits of Yoga 

Yoga improves flexibility in the hamstrings, hips and spine; increases joint mobility; reduces back pain; releases tension in your neck and shoulders; builds core strength; calms your mind and helps you focus! Over the course of four weeks you’ll explore:

WEEK 1: Sun Salutations and Standing Poses 

WEEK 2: Side Opening and Twists 

WEEK 3: Balancing Postures and Hip Openers 

WEEK 4: Shoulder Openers and Back Bending Poses

Day & Time: Sundays, 1:00-2:15 pm 

Dates: 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, and 4/5
