Dear Yoga Gallery Friends and Students
As yogis we especially realize that we grow and learn from change! We have some big changes to announce
at the Yoga Gallery!
The Yoga Gallery is having a re-birth in June. Our nearly six years in the city of Mission have been a
cherished experience. We are ever grateful for the many students who have found our space a special, sacred
place to learn, share and practice yoga. For some of you it is like a home away from home. A special salute
goes to you, our yoga community, who have made the Yoga Gallery feel so warm and inviting. Thank you for
making these years some of the most meaningful and blessed in our lives.
We will be closing the doors on Johnson Drive to make room for the city of Mission to continue their creek
repairs. Surely you have noticed that the bulldozers are nearly at our door now! The building* must be torn
down for city improvements to be made.
But the Yoga Gallery will continue! We will relocate about three miles south in Old Overland Park town
square, in a space that was previously a Tai Chi studio. It will embody the same, careful attunement to details,
and carry on what we believe to be the heart of the Yoga Gallery. More news: the title of owner/director
passes to Patti Fuhrman. She teams up with Mike Vessels as a co-owner of the Yoga Gallery. While there
will be some changes to the current schedule, you may expect it to be similar to the current line up
of classes, class times and teachers. (Yes, Patricia continues teaching, and nearly the same classes—not
quite ready for retirement!) For those of you who are on a pre-paid series of classes, the class cards
purchased at the Mission location will transfer automatically to the new space! We want the transition to
be as seamless as possible.
We will reach out to you again in early May to post updates. We plan to host a celebratory closing in
Mission, and an open house at the Overland Park space! So, stay tuned for details. We want you to
embrace the new space, which Patti and Mike will be busy renovating to be open by June 1st.
Also, Max Strom will be here for two sessions on Sun, May 18. His being here will be a delightful treat as we
close the ‘end of an era’ on Johnson Drive. The Yoga Gallery blossomed in its second location after a fire in
2002. It is a pleasure to see it continue to thrive as it takes a leap into its third incarnation in Old Overland
Park! While changes to the Yoga Gallery are inherent, we hope you agree that our commitment to serve the
yoga community is changeless.
Blessings and Namaste’
Patricia Gray, Owner & Bob Deeg, Facility Manager
*P.S. We will be removing and recycling as many building materials as possible; if not directly used at the new
location, we plan to donate materials to Habitat for Humanity.
May the Yoga Gallery good vibes live on!
